BPX Gains FCA Authorization for Traditional and Tokenized Securities Trading
BPX has secured regulatory approval from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority to operate as a Multilateral Trading Facility, Alternative Investment Fund Manager, and cryptoasset exchange. The authorization positions BPX as a hybrid platform capable of supporting both traditional dematerialized securities and blockchain-based tokenized assets through issuance, trading, and collateralized lending services.
The firm has progressed through Gate 1 of the Bank of England's Digital Securities Sandbox, becoming the only FCA-approved venue to reach this milestone. Institutional participants are now being onboarded ahead of live operations, with the platform leveraging distributed ledger technology to streamline asset tokenization and expand access to alternative investments like infrastructure and real estate funds.
